Trek to Pattek Danda😊
Pattek Danda is a scenic hill viewpoint near Basantapur in eastern Nepal, known for sunrise, sunset, and broad Himalayan panoramas . Nepal Tourism Board material places it about 3 km from Basantapur and describes views extending across major Himalayan peaks, including Everest and Kanchenjunga.
Scenery and experience
The main attraction is the high, open viewpoint , particularly around dawn and dusk when clear conditions reveal the Himalayan skyline. Sources commonly give an elevation of about 2,500 m , although a 2024 tourism report gives 2,702 m, so published elevation figures are inconsistent.
Getting there
From Basantapur Bazaar , Pattek Danda is roughly 3 km away. Nepal Tourism Board describes an alternative approach via Chitre: approximately a 15-minute drive followed by a 30-minute trek , making Pattek suitable for a relatively short outing rather than a major expedition.
