Caprock Canyons State Park😊
Caprock Canyons State Park & Trailway is a rugged Texas Panhandle state park near Quitaque, where red-rock canyons cut through the Caprock Escarpment. Its defining attractions are the Texas State Bison Herd , extensive hiking and biking terrain, and the long Caprock Canyons Trailway.
Bison and wildlife
The park is home to the Texas State Bison Herd , descended from a herd established by Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight in 1878; today the animals roam more than 10,000 acres. Visitors share the landscape with them, and park guidance requires staying at least 50 yards away from bison.
